Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-05-29

This Privacy Policy applies to Representations: Binary & Hex on iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and macOS.

Summary

Representations: Binary & Hex is an Apple-platform reference application for browsing and searching number-base values, Unicode® Transformation Format-8 (UTF-8) bytes, and Unicode Standard code points. Reference browsing, filtering, searching, and copying work locally on your device. UTF-8 Favorites may sync through Apple’s iCloud key-value storage so your favorite code points can appear on your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac.

Data collection

The application does not collect user data. For this policy, “collect” means the developer receiving user data or transmitting user data to a developer-controlled service or third-party service selected by the developer. Apple iCloud sync is a system service provided by Apple and is governed by Apple’s privacy practices.

The application does not use:

App Store App Privacy

The application’s App Store App Privacy declaration is:

The application does not sell, share, transfer, or disclose user data to third parties.

Local and iCloud application data

The application includes a read-only database packaged with it. Browsing, filtering, searching, and copying values are performed locally on your device.

UTF-8 Favorites store only Unicode code point numbers. They are saved locally and, when iCloud is available for the signed-in Apple Account, synchronized through Apple’s iCloud key-value storage. The developer does not receive, access, operate, or back up this iCloud data.

Any other ordinary on-device application files created by iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS, or the application remain on your device. The developer does not receive, access, or back up those files.

When you tap to copy a value, your device places that value on the system clipboard. The application does not transmit clipboard contents to the developer or to third parties. Clipboard contents may be visible to iOS, iPadOS, keyboards, and other applications according to your device and operating-system behavior.

Network access

The application does not send application data to the developer or to third parties. UTF-8 Favorites may be sent to Apple iCloud for sync if iCloud is enabled for your Apple Account and device.

If you open the privacy policy link, developer website, or an email address from the application or store listing, that action is handled outside the application by your browser, email application, operating system, or the App Store. Those services are governed by their own privacy practices.

Voluntary contact and platform services

If you voluntarily contact the developer by email or through the developer website, the information you provide is used only to read, manage, and respond to that communication. The application itself does not collect that information.

Apple, iCloud, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS, device manufacturers, browsers, email applications, and other platform services may process store, install, update, security, crash, diagnostic, sync, review, web, or email data under their own privacy practices. The developer does not add advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs to the application.

Data retention and deletion

The application does not create a developer-managed account, so account deletion is not applicable.

You can delete local application data by uninstalling the application or deleting the application’s data according to iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, or macOS settings and system behavior. You can remove UTF-8 Favorites in the application by turning off their star controls; when iCloud is available, those removals sync through iCloud according to Apple’s system behavior. You can also manage iCloud application data through Apple Account and iCloud settings where Apple provides those controls.

Security

The application minimizes privacy and security risk by keeping reference features local, limiting cloud use to UTF-8 Favorites through Apple iCloud key-value storage, avoiding unnecessary permissions, and not including advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs.

Children’s privacy

The application is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from children or from any other users.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If it is updated, the new version will be posted at the same privacy policy uniform resource locator (URL), and the effective date above will be revised.
